2021 Music Festival Information

The 2021 Mainline Music Festival will be held in Wolseley. This event will be "virtual", subject to the guidelines in place from Saskatchewan Music Festival Association and Saskatchewan Health Authority. See SMFA Guidelines, updated 24 February 2021.

Mainline Music Festival has a Covid-19 Mitigation Strategy.

Our event will be closed to the public for 2021. However, competition sessions will be streamed on our YouTube Channel.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE PREPARED TO ENTER A VIDEO SUBMISSION IF PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDELINES CHANGE. We will not be refunding entry fees if the format of our Music Festival needs to change.

  • Masks will be required for everyone, including singers.
  • Sessions will be limited to only the student entered, VOLUNTEERS, and the adjudicator. We will be streaming on YouTube to allow friends and family to view the performances.
  • Covid-19 screening/self-assessment, and contact tracing information will be required.
  • Only soloists and same-household duets/ensembles are permitted to enter for in-person classes.
  • Adjudication forms will be digital, or distributed after 24 hours quarantine. Certificates will be distributed digitally. Music will NOT be collected, to reduce the number of touch points and transfer of items between people.

Please Note:
To be recommended as a District Winner, a competitor must have entered and competed in at least two solo classes in the same discipline (excluding the National Class) at the local level. Instrumentalists must compete in two classes on the same instrument. Any entry forms marked TBA or participants changing their music selection after the entry deadline will perform for adjudication only. This means a mark will not be given and the participant may not be eligible for scholarships.

Photocopied music will not be allowed.


  • Achieves a mark of 87 or higher in 1 performance in one of their classes.
  • Must have competed in at least 2 solos in the same discipline.
  • Be performing music that is of sufficient standard.
  • Performed for memory during festival (except for band solos).
  • For Vocal and Musical Theatre participants, 12 and under, may be eligible for both a Vocal scholarship and a Musical Theatre scholarship if a solo is performed in each discipline.
